JACK COWAN | Executive Director | FACC PNW
Since becoming the FACC PNW’s Executive Director 1992, Jack has coordinated the work of the FACC in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. In 1998, Jack was appointed the Honorary Consul of France in the state of Washington. Jack represents France in Washington State, providing a consular presence for French nationals, guidance for French-American business interests, and support to the French community in their efforts to promote French culture, tradition, and education. In 2011, he was awarded the French Legion of Honor by Nicolas Sarkozy, President of France at the time, and in 2001 he received the National Order of Merit from the French government.
MICHEL MERLUZEAU | Director, Aerospace & Defense Market Analysis | AirInsight Research Inc
Michel brings 25 years of aerospace consulting expertise, leading teams providing analysis and strategic insight. He is primarily responsible for establishing and reviewing AIR strategic priorities and translating them into research services and products across commercial aerospace and defense markets. Over the years, Michel has managed projects ranging from complex airplane launch strategies, competitive strategy and intelligence – including strategic analyses across civilian and military markets including special mission, fighter, transport and regional business aircraft. Prior to joining AIR in early 2017, Michel was the Vice President, Strategy for Frost & Sullivan Aerospace & Defense group in Seattle and Washington DC. Prior to this, he led G2 Solutions, a boutique market analysis firm based in Seattle for over 8 years until 2014. He has been a regular contributor to Speednews, PNAA, Frost & Sullivan, OAI and Aviation Today conferences and news/publications including; Aviation Today, NBC, WSJ, TVA, BBC CNBC, flight International, Avionics Magazine, Bloomberg News and Sky News. Michel is a graduate of the University of Provence in France.
JEAN-MICHEL HILLION | Corporate Sr. VP BOEING Programs | Safran USA
Jean-Michel graduated from the Ecole Supérieure d’Electronique de l’Ouest electronics engineering school (1986) and holds an MBA from IAE in Paris (1991). Prior to being named Safran Corporate Senior Vice President, Boeing Programs, Jean-Michel enjoyed a long career with Safran since he joined the group in 1988 as head of production testing for Elecma. Following this initial position, he created the commercial aircraft FADEC repair workshop when the A320 entered service, prior to taking charge of FADEC 2 development for the A340 CFM engine. In 1993 he was named head of commercial aircraft programs at Elecma. He took part in the creation of Snecma Control Systems in 1998, being named head of business development. In 2001 he joined Messier-Bugatti as director of programs for the Hydraulics and Braking Control divisions. Jean-Michel was subsequently named director of these Messier-Bugatti divisions. He moved to Sagem in September 2008 to direct the creation of Safran Electronics and was named head of this division in February 2009. Jean-Michel also served on the FACC PNW Board of Directors as the Executive Vice-President.
MICHAEL BANGUE-TANDET | Regional Marketing Director | Boeing Commercial Airplanes
Michael is a driven and innovative manager with a unique blend of business acumen and technical experience in leading aerospace organizations. Prior to becoming the Regional Marketing Director at Boeing Commercial Airplanes five years ago, Michael had various roles with Boeing and the Safran Group. His strong negotiation skills, international background, and ability to develop and maintain long-term professional relationships enable him to effectively serve clients on new and challenging projects that drive the aerospace industry. Michael is an MBA graduate of the University of Washington and a board member of the FACC PNW.
BRUNO J. FERRAND | CEO | Latécoère International Inc.
Bruno is a business conscious person who loves positive challenge and effective collaboration. Bruno has over 25 years of experience in the European and American Aerospace Industries, with the majority of his career being within the procurement field. Based in Seattle, his role as the President and CEO of Latécoère focuses on the management of the North American business and support operations. Prior to joining the Latécoère Group in 2009, Bruno spent 21 years working for Airbus (Europe and Americas). He holds a degree in International Business from the Ecole Atlantique de Commerce (Audencia Group / Nantes – France)
LAURENT DEBUIRE | Boeing Product Development Director | Zodiac Aerospace
Laurent is the Product Development Director for the Electrical and Cockpit System division of Zodiac Aerospace, now a Company of Safran, and the head of the Boeing Development Team of the group. Laurent has 20 years of experience in the Electrical Systems and Lighting Systems. After designing new concepts of overhead panels on the A380 (Airbus), SSJ100 (Sukhoi) and B737RS (Boeing), Laurent moved to the U.S. in 2007 to support the B787 Electrical Systems and manage the engineering team of Zodiac Lighting Solution (known as IDD Aerospace). Over the last two years, Laurent has focused on supporting Boeing and new electrical aircraft manufacturers by providing electrical solutions for their new platforms, and developing new interiors concepts with his team. He also works with American universities involved on the More Electrical Aircraft. Laurent holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Aerospace Communication Engineering from ESME Sudria. He is a board member of the FACC PNW, and in 2017 he received the Investment Award of the FACC PNW French- American Business Awards on behalf of Zodiac Aerospace
DIETMAR KLAUBER | General Manager Seattle office | Liebherr Aerospace
Dietmar leads the Liebherr-Aerospace offices located in Everett, Washington. As the General Manager of Liebherr-Aerospace U.S. Offices, Dietmar is managing the Liebherr liaison engineer teams in US which offer, beside others, program support for the 747-8 ECS, 767-2 NGS and the 777X folding wing and high lift actuation. Dietmar also represents the Aerospace pillar of the Liebherr Group in the U.S and is pursuing strategic targets. Prior to becoming General Manager of U.S. Offices for Liebherr Aerospace & Transportation in 2011, Dietmar worked as Program Manager of Regional Jets at Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH, mainly with Embraer in Brazil. Dietmar graduated from the University of Kempten for Applied Sciences, Kempten, Germany with a master degree in Business Administration & Marketing.
JEREMY DEROSIER | Business Development North America | Tronico
Jérémy Derosier is an entrepreneurial and business driven engineer who is in charge of the development of Tronico’s activities in North America. His role covers customer support, sales, marketing, partnership, mergers and acquisitions, and business strategy. Tronico is a French company with headquarters in Nantes and is a subsidiary of the group Alcen. Tronico’s core business is the design, manufacture, and integration of electronic hardware for the Aerospace & Defense Industry. Before joining Tronico, Jérémy created a strategic consulting team to handle a customer’s/competitor’s analysis on General Electric’s healthcare services. He started his career working for Airbus on the design of cockpit composite parts for the A350 program. His passion for entrepreneurship led him to develop diverse IT and business skills that were recognized with an award at CRECE Entrepreneurship Challenge for his project “Teamz-Up”. Jérémy holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering specialized in composite material and a Master’s Degree in International Business Development.
Pierre-Yves Clech | Business Unit Manager |Avtech-Tyee
Pierre-Yves’s initial career at Zodiac Aerospace offered him a large spectrum of management positions covering engineering, production, program management, sales or business development. Most of his 15 years of experience in the aerospace sector were acquired here, in the Seattle area where his knowledge of the industry and of the local customers helped him lead to success some of the most challenging programs. In the past decade, he focused on the introduction of some of the latest aerospace technologies promoting the composite plane, the more electric plane, and automation with industry 4.0. He now specializes in avionics and future on-board electronic systems. Pierre-Yves holds a Master Degree of Engineering from the Institut Catholique d’Arts & Metiers.
Julien Acis | Business Development Manager | Daher
Julien ACIS is the business development manager in the Seattle area for Aerostructures and Systems activities within the Aerospace and Defense Business Unit of DAHER, a major Tier-1 supplier to Aerospace OEMs which builds the TBM aircraft family.
Julien has a 19-year experience in the Aerospace industry gathered in Project and Operations management for different aerospace companies, with a deep knowledge of the composites industry. Julien has started his career has a design engineer for composites structures. He has led afterward the implementations and the operations of facilities for composites productions in different countries (Morocco and Mexico). Julien has taken the responsibility of the technical team in North America from 2013 to 2016, supporting the development of activities of Daher in the US. His current role with Daher includes business development activities around Aerostructures and Systems (Development and manufacturing), but also activities related to lobbying and promotion of the Daher Company throughout the globe. Julien has implemented the Daher Seattle office in 2016.
Mr. ACIS has a Master degree in Structural and Materials mechanics from the engineer School E.P.F. near Paris, France.
Mr. Acis is married and father of 3 children; He resides in the Seattle area.
